ICOs will disrupt the angel investor model – should you be afraid or excited?
ICOs are the hottest topic in the financial markets going into 2018 and ICO funding was five times higher than equity funding in 2017. Their rise has been astronomical, but are they here to stay? Is this sustainable or is it another symptom of a bubble? What will the ICO market shape into during this year?  Will the ICOs such as Telegram’s open the floodgate and impact the VC and IPO business going forward? In other words; should the traditional VCs be quaking in their boots? We've put together a stellar set of panellists to discuss these, and more, topics about the ICO sphere.

Looking to the future: Why it’s time to invest in FinTech Research
The financial services industry acknowledges the need for academics in the important FinTech field to fill the many new positions dealing with risk management, data mining, cyber security etc. Yet most companies are very hesitant to participate in research collaboration and long term development in new, not fully understood areas. Though the industry contributes with much innovation, very few organizations have their own research departments. Certainly, the research contributions known from biotechnology, medicine etc. are not reflected in financial services. If the best qualified academics get industry employment directly out of university it may impact research potential adversely. Research is important – not only in the long run but also for zero-day innovation, when conditions are suddenly right and can implement new knowledge very fast. Join us at the Arena on Wednesday June 6th at 16h to discuss “Looking to the future: why invest in FinTech Research” or share your greatest FinTech Research institute/article.
