Senior Vice President, Global Acceptance
Amy Parsons is currently Senior Vice President, Global Acceptance and Customer Experience, for Discover Global Network. In this role, Ms. Parsons is responsible for leading the client teams accountable for expanding partnerships with leading global banks, acquirers and digital payment enablers; ensuring a seamless commerce experience for consumers. The focus is on the new frontier of digital and mobile payments and strategies to manage the shifting landscape and the fragmentation of payment providers. Prior to leading the Global Acceptance organization, Ms. Parsons served as Senior Vice President, Global Commerce, where she was responsible for leading strategic planning, payments innovation, and product deployment initiatives, as well as sales engagement and partnership development with the Network’s largest merchant partners. Previously, she was based in London where she built the team now responsible for growing and managing a global payments network comprised of over 41.5M merchants. Prior to this, Ms. Parsons led the team that secured and executed a multiyear strategic investment to build a Global ATM network from scratch – resulting in a top global ATM network in 1 year and now over 1.9M cash locations.  Ms. Parsons has more than 25 years of experience in Payment Services with expertise in developing strategic business opportunities and partnerships. She has a passion for teaching others about the industry and mentoring people to be better business leaders. She is an accomplished public speaker and is passionate about promoting industry thought leadership and women career development. Ms. Parsons received a B.S. in Marketing from Arizona State University and an M.B.A. through the Executive Program at the W.P. Carey School of Business. She is a board member of the Electronic Transaction Association (ETA), The Merchant Advisory Group (MAG) and Lambs Farm, which is a non-profit providing residential and vocational services for adults with developmental disabilities.
