Pedro is co-founder and Head of Research of James, a data science company based in New York and Lisbon. His academic background is in engineering, applied to simulation. He is one of the co-creators of James, an AI for credit risk that allows risk officers to build, test and validate credit scoring models.
Pedro started his career in Fintech at 25, with James, which has been awarded best European Fintech Startup of 2016. He is passionate about data science and open data, and also one of the founders of the largest Open Data organization in Lisbon, ODMLX and an instructor at Lisbon Data Science Academy. In his free time he enjoys playing around with public sources of data (e.g. government data) and teaching data science to students.
