Spencer is the Managing Director of Consumer Payments Platforms within the Retail Shopping Payments Partnership Business Development organization. He is responsible for leading cross¬-functional engagement across Google and Alphabet companies to bring new consumer payments products to life around the world, including next generation commerce products closely tied to the Android operating system. Spencer has responsibility for Google’s
business development initiatives across the entire partner ecosystem spanning financial institutions, merchants, mobile network operators and technology partners to name a few.
Since joining Google in 2003, Spencer has worked across numerous business segments and helped to develop and launch several new emerging products. Before joining the Business Development organization as its Director, Spencer spent two years as the Director of Sales Development and Strategy, where he was responsible for Operations, Sales Programs & Marketing supporting Google’s US Agency Business. Prior to that, Spencer was the Director of Google’s Traditional Media platforms where he oversaw partnerships across the advertiser and publisher ecosystem. In his first role at Google, Spencer started the Business and Industrial Market’s Industry Group leading business development and sales strategy for the
emerging segment.
Before Google, Spencer was the founder of Koko Interactive, an Outrider Company. He began his career in traditional Advertising and Print media, first at the Aspen Times, in Aspen Colorado and then later with Faulker & Gray, a division of Thomson Media in New York.
Among other non¬profit activities, Spinnell is a founding board member of Matt’s Promise, an organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people affected by terminal illnesses.
